Welcome!

Why hello there, dear reader or spam bot, and thanks for visiting The Retro Echo! This blog is meant to be an addition to my YouTube channel, a place where I will mostly focus on albums rather than just singles which I upload to YouTube. For ease of downloading, all files will be hosted on Mega and available in .zip format.

Just a few pointers for the road before we begin our voyage into the wonderful world of resurrecting analog recordings - some of which remained unloved and unplayed for decades before I came along to save them:

a.) Kindly bear in mind that many of these recordings, even if recorded or originally pressed on high-quality vinyl/shellac/tape/wire, may have been improperly stored or played over their lifespan, and thus have scratches, clicks, pitch drift, etc. I do attempt to clean the sound up digitally the best I can, especially when it comes to whole albums. However, if you are expecting audiophile sound quality from a recording made before your great-grandmother was born, this is probably not the right blog for you!

b.) This is a blog meant to showcase some of the less-remembered recordings of yesteryear; if you are interested in hearing ragtime dulcimer (yes, it is a thing), you'll probably find it here! However, if you are only interested in hearing Barry Manilow hits, you will not find such material here because this blog will not feature well-known musical icons and/or artists who didn't record mindless drivel.

c.) Some of these recordings will use rather "colorful" language and/or stereotypes about men/women, people of certain races/ethnic backgrounds, etc. that were common at the time of recording. Some of these may be deemed offensive to a modern audience. Please remember that I am posting these recordings for their historical importance, and that I may not personally agree with each song's content as well.

d.) There is no copyright infringement intended via posting these recordings! If you are a member of a professional music publishing or licensing agency and believe that a posted recording violates copyright law, please send me a message explaining such and I will work with you to find a mutually agreeable solution, which may or may not be removal of the posting.

That's it! I hope you enjoy this blog and remember to check back often to see what's new! (And don't be afraid to comment, either!)
